Community
Mandurah Cruises is a community business. We are all locals who are all so proud of the place we live in. Of course, we want our city and region to be the best it can be and so we support local charities and community groups, whose focus is aligned with our business activities and that we can make a significant difference to. We are proud to support the following organisations:
Camp Quality
Throughout the year we host free cruise events for children and families living with cancer through Camp Quality. These events include Dolphin & Scenic Canal Cruises throughout the year and kick starting the Christmas lights period with a Christmas Lights Cruise featuring Santa and his elf on board.

Mandurah Dolphin Research Project
We are one of the 3 major sponsors of PhD research into the Mandurah dolphin population at Murdoch University’s Cetacean Research Unit . We work closely with the researchers sharing valuable information including our daily dolphin sightings. This is the biggest research project to date on the dolphins that reside in the Peel-Harvey Estuary. Click here for more information on the project or follow them on Facebook for regular updates.

Mandurah Volunteer Dolphin Rescue Group
The Mandurah Volunteer Dolphin Rescue Group are on the water almost every day, donating their time and money for the protection of our dolphin population. They monitor the dolphins in the Peel-Harvey Estuary and surrounding coastal waters, checking the health of the dolphins and responding to calls from the public and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, attending to stranded, sick, injured, entangled or deceased dolphins. We raised $3,000+ for the group in 2017 and in 2018 have started up a new fundraising initiative through gold coin donations on cruise bookings and gift shop sales.

The Rotary Club of Mandurah
During the festive season, we have every Mandurah Cruises vessel stop at the ‘Wishing Well’ during Christmas Lights Cruises and at the conclusion of the season also donate a large monetary sum. All funds raised by the Rotary Club of Mandurah support local charities in need, sharing the donations to places such as the Peel Community Kitchen, Tree Mission, Mandurah Environment & Heritage Group and Riding for the Disabled, Mandurah. For more information on the great work the Rotary Club of Mandurah do click here.

Peel Harvey Catchment Council
We support the Peel-Harvey Catchment Council (which supervises the environmental health of the Peel-Harvey Catchment) in their monitoring of avian population health in the Peel-Harvey estuary. For its and Bird Life Australia’s Shorebird 2020 count held in February, we provided a vessel and 5 crew to participate in the bird count. To learn more about the event click here. We are the major sponsor of Mandurah’s Shorebird Identification Workshop taking place in January 2019.

Estuary Guardians Mandurah
Estuary Guardians Mandurah is a community organisation aimed at providing information about the estuary and the resident dolphins to the publc. We support the Estuary Guardians Mandurah by contributing staff time speaking at their events and supporting the development and distribution of Mandurah Fin guides, which aid the public in identifying the dolphins by their dorsal fin. To learn more about the great work being done by Estuary Guardians Mandurah click here.

Royal Life Saving
We support Royal Life Saving by having a donation tin in our gift shop which the public are encouraged to donate any spare change to. Keep an eye out for the yellow duck!

Mandurah Volunteer Marine Rescue Group
We support the Mandurah Volunteer Marine Rescue Group by having a donation tin in our shop which the public are encouraged to donate any spare change to. Look for the tin with the big white and yellow boat!

Local Education Program
We provide a Mandurah Estuary education program for local schools. With our wildlife educator, we travel to primary schools in the Peel Region, educating the students about our dolphin population, estuary sustainability and the prevention of marine degradation. This enables students to discover the place they live and hopefully pass on the message of protecting the environment to their friends and families. If you would like us to visit your school or group send an email to education@mandurahcruises.com.au
